Still holding a deep red in colour that is ever so lighter towards the rim. The nose has blackberry and satsuma plum with a savoury twist and leathery aspect.
This wine is a pleasant surprise, 13 years post vintage and from the 2000 vintage which is not known for its longevity.
It opens up with blackberry and drying tannins, oak is integrated and matched well with olive and dark cocoa characters.
The finish is long and drying with gentle spices.
