The 2004 Heathcote Estate Shiraz was a wine that i was expecting a lot from, but can't help but be a little disappointed.
The nose was somewhat muted, giving a dull expression of red and dark berried fruits. On the palate the fruit was drying and struggled to spark too much interest with some angular acid, i looked hard for complexity but could only find some slight spiced plum characters on the finish.
Not sure if it was just this bottle, given i rate Heathcote Estate as a consistently good wine.
