The wine is a glossy deep red in colour and the nose is dominated by plum, licorice all sorts and rich oak.
The palate shows similar oak treatment to the nose with plum steeped in vanillin oak, there are cinnamon and clove spices that contrast thick mouth filling dark fruits and the overt oak inputs initially evident slowly dissipating over the long, fruit driven finish.
This wine will keep getting better over the next 5 to 10 years as acid, oak, fruit and tannin all find their place.
