A deep red with some hints of purple around the rim, looking decidedly youthful in the glass given the wine is 5 years post vintage.
The class and sheer power of this wine is immediately evident on the nose with a saturation of satsuma plum and blackberry with lush supporting oak.
The palate highlights the sublime fruit with tannins having sufficient drive and grip to focus the concentrated fruit.
There are lovely spicy notes that weave in and out of the palate, with quality oak inputs adding a well-proportioned suppleness.
The finish lingers with some spiced raisin characters and a touch of licorice that is true to the command style, a wonderful example of premium Barossa Shiraz.
