An almost impenetrable red, with some youthful purple hues. The nose is powerful and dominated by concentrated plum and vanillin oak with white chocolate characters.
As usual the palate is quintessential Mollydooker with a supple mouth feel from start to finish with lashings of oak and the most concentrated of McLaren Vale fruit.
The finish adds a savoury and spicy element that helps to round out the wine. The length seems to go on indefinitely - with the 16% alcohol certainly having and impact.
This wine is set to polarise, but is a precisely made Mollydooker.
