The wines of Cobaw Ridge are made in a style that rewards time, with most wines at cellar door in bottle for a number of years prior to release. The 2010 Syrah is standout expression of cool climate Shiraz that balances dense dark fruit with an elegant and understated savoury flare.
The nose gives a peppery expression of plum with background olive tapenade notes, the palate unfolds with layers of character; on entry there is bay leaf laden blackberry that is supported by an earthen aspect that gives complexity and ties the wine back to the unforgiving granite strewn site from which it is produced.
