The 2010 Yakka Shiraz is a classy wine from start to finish, it is decidedly medium bodied but shows, structure, elegance and depth well above its $27 dollar price point.
The wine is a deep red with purple hues around the rim, the nose shows subtle cool climate characters of plum, dark cherry and blackberry with vanillin oak in the background.
The palate gives an array of dark fruits, accentuated by subtle spices and a touch of white pepper.
Dark cherry fruit and graphite like tannins frame the wine on the finish, the length is excellent.
