What an interesting nose.. it is so unlike a typical Shiraz, even cool climate, there is boysenberry, black fruits and a background aroma of dried paw paw.
On the palate the wine has the structure and tannin profile of a Shiraz, but the spice and lovely line of acidity that is more akin to a Pinot from Mornington.
The tannins are powdery and the wine shows a great purity of fruit with oak very much in the background and providing a supporting role.
There are drying dark chocolate and blackberry to finish.
