The wine is a close to impenetrable red in colour, a surprise given it's cool climate origins, the nose is peppery yet floral with meaty undertones and a backdrop of cedary oak.
The palate has drying dark cherry and plum with sour edged blackberry, there is some chalky acid and drying tannins on the mid to back palate that leads to drying black fruits on the finish.
This wine is certainly in the savoury and drying spectrum of Shiraz, and will reward medium term cellaring.
