Tasting
This is the wine that Seppeltsfield want to pin their reputation to when it comes to table wines. It is priced accordingly at $150, and the relative price to quality ratio will always be a debate, however it certainly has the raw inputs of quality fruit and oak, matched with some excellent winemaking to produce an exceptional wine.
The nose is all class with generous spicy oak and excellent concentration of plum and dark cherry fruits.
The wine is screaming out for time, still so tightly bound but showing structure and presence that will continue to evolve over the next decade. All elements are in equal measure, even though fruit, oak and tannins vie for attention there is an elegance and structure. The finish has a density of plum, new leather and spicy oak.
