This wine is the apple in the eye of Chapoutier's Domaine Terlato & Chapoutier range from the Pyrenees, the grapes from the aptly named L Block (because of it's shape) are de-stemmed before being fermented and macerated for between 4 - 6 weeks, the wine is matured in French Oak for 18 months prior to bottling.

This is a serious wine, it's fruit driven but has an old world style about it; plum and blackberry are given a savoury, charcuterie twist. The wine has great concentration, but will need time to fully express itself, the tannins are firm but not out of place, there is a dusting of spice that will no doubt become more prominent in years to come.

If you have some in the cellar i suggest leaving it for a good few years to get an even better return on your investment.
