If you read the back of this label it says We invite you to experience the evolution of Elderton and from the nose it's evident that this wine has been made as new age Barossa with deep plum and violets rather than big oak.
The wine is a heady mix of red and black fruits ranging from plum to dark cherry with a a touch of licorice that complements the dense grainy tannins that frame the mid to back palate that underwrites this wines ability to excel in the cellar.
I really look forward to seeing this wine in a few years as it evolves in the bottle in alignment with Elderton's wine making philosophy.. not that the strategy needs to change in my opinion!
