Tasting
This wine was first released in 2008 and named after Elderton co-founder Neil Ashmead. Neil had a love of fast cars, and as one of the men behind the revitalisation of the Barossa in the late 70's and 80's it was said Neil would spend a lot of his time in his car driving between cities to show off his wares. The wine has seen 15 months in quality new French oak and exudes class.
A complex nose of plum and cherry, with spicy and rich oak inputs. The palate is elegant with spiced plum accentuated by savoury notes. The tannins are supple, and everything is wrapped by an attractive sheath of quality French oak. The finish has layers of complexity, and will reward time in the cellar.
