Tasting
Shiraz doesn't quite spark the same emotive response as Cabernet and Chardonnay when you think about the wines of Margaret River, but as a variety there are consistently good expressions that are produced, Leeuwin Estate being one that champions the variety.
The aromatics on the nose are more floral and lifted spice aromatics than many a Shiraz from the region, with the pretty nose joined with primary fruits of plum and violets. The palate has plum and mulberry on entry with good palate weight there is a lick of graphite tannin that leads into a long finish of dark fruits and understated licorice nuances.
