The Greenock is one of two single vineyard wines produced by Murray Street Vineyards, the single vineyard wines look to express the characteristics of the sub-regions of Greenock and Gomersal, two of the premier sites within the Barossa.
A wonderfully savoury and integrated nose of sultry plum with background influences of leather and oak spice.
This is a wine of exceptional structure and interest, it's a Barossa built on finess and adept winemaking as opposed to full throttle primary fruits. It's not to say the wine is devoid of fruit, there is an underlying interplay between sultry dark plum and integrated oak from which gentle spice and a touch of licorice add contrast.
The finish is a leathery, savoury and expansive representation of dark berry fruits.
This wine is drinking superbly now, but has a long life ahead of it.
