A medium to deep red in the glass, the nose is attractive with liquorice and plum fruits and a touch of blackberry.
The palate is round and supple with plenty of vanillin oak that works well with the briny blackberry and plum flavours that are framed by drying tannins and more grainy oak characters on the mid to back palate.
The wine has a slight sour edge to finish which accentuates the acid and strips back the fruit making the oak a little too evident. Will reward short to medium term cellaring.
