Tasting
Produced from 50 + year old vines on the Greenock sub region that was cropped at 1.5 tonne per acre. The wine saw two years in French oak (56% new) before being bottles without any fining or filtration.
A deep red in the glass, the nose shows a balance of deep plum and olive sitting alongside spicy and aromatic new French oak influences.
The palate has a cacophony of red and black fruits ranging from red cherry though to grainy blackberry and leathery plum. The tannins are in harmony and provide a seamless transition towards an expansive dark fruited finish that is accentuated by wood spice and leathery complexity.
