Tasting
The flagship release from Condie Estate, the wine sees 24 months in oak and is built in a style that is approachable now, but will also reward a number of years in the cellar.
A deep red in the glass, great complexity on the nose with deeply aromatic plum fruit given a leathery aspect and background notes of peppermint crisp.
There is an underlying savoury character to this wine which contrasts the layered and satisfying dark fruits that one comes to expect from a quality Heathcote Shiraz. Touches of oak spice weave in and out, as do fine yet drying tannins. The finish gives a drying dark chocolate note that works well in a sea of dark fruits.
The quality of this Heathcote producer continues to grow.
