Tasting
The 2012 Langi Shiraz was one of the best wines i had the pleasure of tasting in 2014, unfortunately the 2013 hasn't quite lived up to the same hype. The wine is still a very good example of Grampians Shiraz, but doesn't quite hit the sublime high notes of previous vintage.
The wine is a dark red in the glass, initially muted with time brambly dark fruits and savoury spice can be found. The palate is supple and spicy, yet at the same time maintaining drying and earthen tannins. There is undoubtedly some quality oak that is at play, giving a sheath of richness to dark fruits to finish. Will reward time in the cellar.
