The second look at this wine, after the first one wasn't up to scratch. With the replacement bottle much more representative of the region and variety.
The nose gives up front plum and cedar with a peppery edge and touches of leather. Medium bodied, with soft approachable tannins and oak induced spice that works amongst drying tannins and a melange of dark fruits that have a sappy, savoury edge.
Will evolve over the medium term.

A nose that has coffee, charred oak and charcuterie notes with stripped back, dusty dark berry fruits. The medium bodied palate has briar but underwhelming dark fruits working against drying acidity with peppery plum fruit, there is a hard oak edge to finish.
A tough wine to enjoy.
