Tasting
The Contrarian is sourced from the Marananga sub-region in the western Barossa, the wine was aged in large format oak (600L) for 12 months prior to bottling without fining or filtration.
A deep red in the glass, the nose is a dense and deeply aromatic expression of plum, blueberry with background aniseed.
This is a classy wine, quality french oak and concentrated yet supple red and black fruits are at the wines core, tannins are framing and build alongside wood inspired spice and a touch of liquorice. Exceptional length to finish.
