This wine was released to commemorate the birth of Peter Leonidas who is the fourth generation of Lou Miranda Estate. The wine comes in a beautifully etched bottle and is sealed with natural cork, most importantly what's in the bottle is commensurate with the packaging. The grapes were sourced from the Hill Block vineyard and only 2,888 bottles were produced.
A dark red hue in the glass the wine is a complex, concentrated and quintessential Barossa Shiraz. The nose is steeped in plum and blackberry fruit with aromatic vanillin spice, meaty nuances and a suggestion of choc peppermint.
The wine is full bodied with concentrated dark fruits carried by finely filamented, but drying tannins that are woven amongst generous plum and blackberry that have an ever so slight saline depth. The wine lingers with touches of vanilla set against drying dark fruits and bitter dark chocolate.
This will live for a long time.
