This wine was released from vines nearing 40 years of age and has been held back in bottle prior to release.
A medium red hue in the glass, the nose immediately shows attractive oak spice with a rose petal like note that leads to red berry fruits.
The palate is defined by supple french oak, it's luxurious but overwhelms the fruit with plum seen somewhere in the background. The finish enjoys some crushed herbs with a long and decadent finish.
A wine that does show a heavy hand of oak, but it's hard not to enjoy.
