Rosenthal wines are based in the Great Southern region with the name translating to the Valley of the Rose' this particular release came from Manjimup and is a deeply satisfying wine that shows all the hallmarks of exceptional fruit and some adept winemaking.
A dense red in the glass, the nose gives floral, almost rose petal like notes that are backed by dark cherry and flashes of French oak spice. The palate sets this wine apart from a number of young WA Shiraz's with concentration of dark berry fruits that have a supple density that puts them on the richer than savoury side of the fruit spectrum. The oak treatment on the wine is impeccable and gives just the right amount of spice and oak induced complexity to the densely dark cherry and plum laden finish.
This is sure to reward medium term cellaring.
