Sourced from a single vineyard in Macclesfield, Adelaide Hills the wine was picked over a number of days and fermented separately with varying levels of whole bunch. All ferments were wild and the wine spent time on skins post ferment. The wine was aged in French oak (30% new) for 11 months and is a deeply satisfying and complex cool climate Shiraz.
A dark red in the glass with a nose of plums, white pepper, raspberry and briar, the palate is layered in terms of texture and flavour, no doubt due to the array of winemaking technique that informed it's assembly. There is a spicy, peppery core that's a constant with attractive and supple dark berry that play alongside firm but fine tannin. Expansive length to finish with stemmy plum fruit more than showcasing the wines whole bunch flair.
Delicious now but will age.
