A wine that is built for the cellar, the Marksman is a blend of two Shiraz clones (40% BRVC12 and 55% Best's) with the inclusion of 5% Viognier. The wine is aged in French oak for 14 months of which 30% is new.
There is a density of blackberry and plum on the nose with savoury rosemary and roast lamb aromatics that set this wine apart.
The palate has impeccable structure that demands time in the bottle, it is framed by new french oak that gives scaffolding and spice to the brooding dark fruits and a bouquet garni of spices. There is an interplay between savoury tannin, juicy acidity and sweeter oak before drying herbaceous length to finish.
