This is a wine that needs some time to open up, it's tightly bound with the nose dominated by concentrated cherry and plum fruit, but over time unravels to show a pretty layer of aromatic spice.
The wine builds across the palate with cherry fruit gaining a smokey, tar and roses like aspect
before drying and leathery tannins take over. To finish there is a flash of oak spice that gives enough contrast to the more savoury and drying characters of the wine.
As with previous vintages of Star Lane this is set up for the long haul, it's showing some great signs that it will reward time in the cellar.
