A wine that's produced by the talented Tash Moody from Labise Wines and at a tick over $20 it's bound to have many fans.
A great colour in the glass with an inky dark red with purple hue towards the rim, the nose gives plum and mulberry with a lingering sweetness of oak and undertones of cured meat. The palate is medium to full bodied with a plushness of dark berry fruit on entry that slowly unravels a more savoury side with fine, earthen tannin and vibrant acidity providing good texture and flow to the wine. There is a smokiness to finish that is interwoven with plum and gentle spice.
Enjoyable now and over the shorter term.
