2015 Z Wines Julius Shiraz

A glossy deep red in the glass, the wine speaks of an exceptional vintage, vineyard and some adept winemaking. The use of new French and American oak (20% new of each) has given this wine another dimension with the delicate spice afforded from the French and the charred nature of the American giving beautiful aromatics and texture that are well and truly matched by the concentration and generosity of the fruit. As is the case with any many great Barossa Shiraz there is a saline nature to the web of tannin that are laden with dark fruits, milk chocolate joins the fray to finish with the slightest note of sweet liquorice strap before driving plum fruit frames the finish.

Worth the money, and has the potential to age for decades.
