I could mistaken to think i was enjoying an aged Barossa Shiraz that has all the the trappings of quality oak, with layers of savoury and earthen impact. The wine is actually from Denmark in WA and at a retail of $35 there is plenty of value for money.
The nose has dense black fruits with old world leather and earth before swathes of generous milk chocolate and spice have impact. The wine is full bodied with plum and dark cherry lifted by cedar and damp earth; there are very rhone like influences of cured meats before expansive dark fruits combine with layered, supple spice to finish.
A wine that will hold your interest from stat to finish - but may polarise.
