2016 Mitolo GAM Shiraz

Mitolo are on the top of their game with another impactful Shiraz from 2016 that has density of blackberry and black cherry fruit alongside unsweetened liquorice, fresh clay and generosity of vanillin spice on the nose. The palate shows a saturation of dark berry fruits with tannins that coat the mouth and have cocoa and a more savoury yet gentle herbaceous edge. There is a suppleness of fruit that carries the mid palate before a moreish line of acidity and tannin that's wrapped in a web of dark chocolate gives depth to finish.
