Produced from the Gateway Vineyard in McLaren Vale, this is anything but your typical McLaren Vale Shiraz, there is a minerality and concentration of dark fruit that sets it apart, no doubt bottling early also helped.
A deep but youthful dark red in the glass, the nose conjures images of concentrated plum over washed rock giving a nod to the focus on fruit rather than oak on this wine.
The palate flows seamlessly from the nose with satsuma plum, touch of charcuterie and licorice with a tar and roses like interplay on the mid to back palate. Generous, concentrated and long finish.
