Credit where credit is due, there wouldn't be too many wines at this quality for $12 RRP , it is not going to be an award winner but it will be sure to impress those who aim at this price point.
The nose has generosity of dark berry fruits, a faint touch of earth and some richer oak characters. The palate is full bodied and does show it's alcohol but at the same time has soft tannin and a spiced, generous impact of oak, there is some old leather and earth that joins plum fruit to finish with good length.
