This is a classic McLaren Vale release that has done incredibly well in a warmer year and uses it's 15% alcohol to create texture and contrast that is immediately approachable now, but also a long term cellaring prospect.
Milk chocolate, plum and raspberry are lifted by aromatic baking spices on the nose. The palate has a silkiness to it, but is underpinned by a lattice of fine, supple tannins that give the perfect bounds for blackberry and plum fruit to express themselves. There are touches of briar and earth that give contrast to finish. Impressive.
