The wine was sourced from 40 year old vines in Frankland River and comes in an imposingly heavy punted bottle, but the wine is befitting of the packaging.
As is the case with many WA Shiraz it has benefitted greatly from time in high quality French oak, it gives a cedar and spice lift to black plum and earth on the nose.
There is a suppleness to the wine with a chocolate note to rolling blackberry and plum fruit, the wine has depth and texture with some interesting charcouterie notes coming to the fore before drying tannins and moreish acidity frame the long, graphite laden finish.
Watch this evolve and shine over the medium term.
