A producer that put Heathcote on the map, this is a stellar 2017 which has concentration and ripeness, yet a subtlety that shows cases the balance that can be produced from the region.
A deep red in colour, the nose has concentrated plum and black cherry that is beautifully integrated with generous spice that has the finesse and spice from a high proportion of new oak.
The palate is bold and fruit driven, tannins are supple but have a savoury edge and the oak could not be better integrated; giving a sheath of richness but in balance with the expansive dark berry fruits.
Wonderful length to finish, and the wine will live for decades.
