The wine opens a touch reductive, but with time opens up to more of a medium bodied frame that focuses on black cherry and plum, oak is a very subtle but shows it's class with an understated richness with time in the glass.
The palate has impressive structure with ample tannin, textured lines of acidity and a density of plum and blackberry fruit that is beautifully integrated with vanillin spice. A decanter is a must for this wine in its youth as it helps to unravel some of the complexity that is going to show itself over the next couple of decades in the bottle.
