The wine is the alter ego of Bert Werden from Winestar and produced from grapes in the Light Pass sub region of the Barossa Valley and made by Russell Burns.
The nose is unashamedly quality Barossa with deep plum that combines with charcuterie, earth and sweet vanillin spice. The palate is dense, but layered and has a svelteness of texture and generosity of black fruits. Tannins take on earth, faint liquorice and gentle spice and when combined with well handled acidity give the wine drive and focus. The finish is all about the savoury plum fruit with a final embellishment of cedar oak. Will live a long time.
