The grapes were sourced from Greenock, Moppa and Koonunga sub regions of the Barossa and was aged in older oak for 18 months prior to bottling.
The use of older oak means there is good concentration and depth of fruit that spans from black cherry to plum and blackberry compote on the nose. The palate has good drive with finely textured tannins laced with vibrant lines of acidity; it is this acidity that gives both freshness and firmness to the wine. With the acidity underwriting some time in the cellar.
To finish dark fruits take on some unsweetened liquorice and cocoa, taking the wine to more of a savoury point, the length is good.
