Sourced from Blewitt Springs and aged in French Oak for 24 months.
This is the most complete wine I have tried from Curtis, and to date the best Shiraz from 2020.
The nose has plum and blueberry fruit that is floral and expressive and is complemented by a touch of old leather and briary spice. The palate has layers of black and blue fruits that are supple but kept in perfect balance by cocoa laced tannins and enough acidity to give both texture and underwrite plenty of future development. The finish has brown spice and undergrowth, tending more rhone like in its styling with savoury influence as important and impactful as the primary fruit. Flagship wines don't always hit the mark, this does with spades.
