A glossy deep red to purple in colour, the nose shows kirsch, a touch of iodine and white pepper. Driving cherry and plum frame the palate with ample concentration; tannins are compact and acidity is in just the right place. There is a tart berry compote like character to the mid palate with bitter dark chocolate and graphite adding grip to finish. Good value at the price, and will be even better in a few years.
