A pretty deep red to purple in colour, the nose is somewhat brooding with concentrated plum, graphite and a suggestion of leather. The wine has a backbone of unsweetned chocolate, with some spice and licorice strap, the fruit is concentrated and more black than red, with the influence of oak giving some richness to the mid palate. A well made wine that will age well over the medium term.
