Even though this is a multi vintage blend with an array of fermentation and ageing techniques the wine retains a youthful deep red in the glass. The aromatics are something special with plush blueberry and plum fruit given a dusting of spice and white pepper; with time there are savoury nuances that shows themselves.
The palate opens up in layers, tannins are savoury and take on both earth and oak derived spice; fruit ranges from dark cherry to plum with top notes of blueberry. There is a moreish line of acidity that ties things together bymeshing fruit, earth and sweeter spice. The finish is expansive and brings dark chocolate into the mix.
There has been so much attention to detail with this wine, and it has paid off.
