This has to be one of the best Chardonnay's produced by Domaine Epis, even as a young wine it strikes a balance between structure and complexity and has the potential to be something truly special in time.
The wine is a light yellow with with a fleck of green in the glass with a nose that has citrus tones along with piercing white peach that works amongst layers of oak derived spice and creamy brioche notes.
The palate is mineral and pure with a citrus core that holds a tension against generous white peach with the wine as much about fruit as it is the impact of new Sirugue oak on the mid palate. There is an almond-meal note that accentuates the finish.
An epic Epis release.
