The 864 releases are becoming synonymous with some of the most complex and age worthy Chardonnay's in this country. Always a single vineyard representation that speaks of the vineyard with a characteristic winemaker influence that is uniquely Oakridge.
The wine was fermented using wild yeast, aged on lees for 10 months in 20% new oak and settled in tank for a further 6 months prior to bottling. Reductive flint with piercing white peach and oak induced spice give definition to the nose. There is tension of acidity that provides incredible texture and length, white fruit is pristine with richness from time on lees giving mealy texture that becomes nothing more than an embellishment to driving peach. The finish is all about savoury texture with stone fruits and struck match etched with citrus. A modern classic.
