Henk is a relatively new addition to the LVS lineup and is fast becoming my favourite, the wine was naturally fermented before being aged on lees in large format barrels for 10 months.
The 2018 is more fruit driven than sometimes the case with Oakridge, but does give subtle but layered sulphide notes of flint and fig to stone fruits.
The palate has mouth filling white peach set against a powdery and mineral core of acidity; texturally there is some grapefruit and almond-meal with a lemony thread that shows the wines youth and underwrites the future. The finish is long and balances fruit and winemaker input.
