2019 Silkwood Estate The Bowman Chardonnay

A light yellow with a fleck of green in the glass, the nose shows a wine that is expansive, worked and worthy of its price-point. Layers of fig and white peach are wrapped in spiced oak. There is a burnt butter like complexity on the palate that is in part time on lees, the other the influence of quality oak. What is most enjoyable is the nectarine and fig that hold their own, amply supported by a mineral line of citrus acidity that balances out the wines bolder characters.

A rich, decadent chardonnay but delivered in a precise and age worthy package.
