I have written it almost every time i write a review for Tasmanian Riesling, but i think Tassie one of the most underrated wine regions in Australia for Riesling, with it often overlooked when compared with it's Burgundian stablemates of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The wine shows a fully mature golden yellow colour, the nose melds tropical fruits with more secondary lemon rhine and mandarin.
The palate is layered, initially full with lychee and pear that gains more savoury bottle aged characters. The acid is perfectly balanced and sets this wine up for another 5 years, there is a mineral balance with what i can only assume is residual sugar that is very appealing.
