Granite Hills are one of the pioneering producers in the Macedon Ranges with the vineyard nearing 50 years in age, the wines are very good across the board, but they really shine with aromatic whites.

The 2018 is a very good follow up to 2017 and showcases vintage variation with the 2018 coming in at 13% alcohol when compared to 12% in 2017. This has resulted in a wine that has depth and mouthfeel, but still holds the exacting lines of acidity that Granite Hills are known for.

The nose has characteristics chalk and lime with some more exotic jasmine and fennel if you look hard. The backbone of the wine is a finely held scaffolding of acidity that provides structure for the citrus dominant palate; there is a touch of green apple that melds with lime fruits before the long, mouth filling finish.

One for the cellar.
