2014 Goldman Wines Hunter Valley Semillon

The wine comes from a classic Hunter Valley vintage and it is quite remarkable it's still available at $28 some 6 years on. A light yellow in colour with a nose of buttered toast and lime with some richer brioche tones. The palate is medium bodied and has enjoyed time in bottle with the buttered toast notes from the nose joined by lanolin with a backbone of fresh lime. The wine has a spring in its step to finish with lively acidity giving a textural counterpoint. Still has years to go.
